2026 6th Grade Passion Play 2026 6th Grade Passion Play Show Transcript good evening parents and friends we the sixth grade are happy to reenact the way of the Cross as part of of our Easter preparation it is our hope that you will be that you will also benefit from a reenactment we ask that everyone please remain quiet and turn off your cell phones so that the special effects can be heard and appreciated thank you for your cooperation we hope you all enjoy our presentation pilot had ordered Jesus to be whipped the officer in charge was a Syrian Soldier among those whopping Jesus the soldiers put their heart into their work finally Jesus's head was pressed up against the column when the officer called The Whipping to a home enough he said put his clothes back on but he said he was a king a centurion Protestant the king of the Jews surely we ought to clothe him as benefits his rank the Centurion laughed and pulling a purple cloak for the near Soldier draped it about Jesus another Soldier catching the spirit of the game disappeared for a moment and returned carrying a branch with long piercing thorns he twisted the branch into the shape of a crown which he placed on jesus' head pressing it down causing jesus' head to bleed advised that the whipping was over pilate was about to leave a voice detained him your Excellency a soldier said I find it hard to understand understand why yours is Prosecuting this man anyone who claims to be a king is surely speaking treason against Caesar if you let him go will it not be said that you are no longer a friend of Caesar himself pilot paused in anger Jesus was pushed roughly forward barely able to stand pilot flinched slightly at Jesus's appearance blood was on his forehead where the crown of thorns had pierced his skin the purple cloak did little to hide the terrible cuts and gashed is on his body what evil has he done pilate questioned he has a false prophet someone said he said he was equal to God crucify him pilate spoke to Jesus in a low voice who are you why don't you defend yourself surely you realize that I have the power to crucify or release you Jesus answered you would have no power over me if it had not been given to you from our father in Heaven the first station Jesus is condemned to death shall be crucified not long after Jesus's trial the soldiers forced a heavy wooden cross Jesus began his long and painful journey to Calvary where he knew he'd be crucified second station Jesus is made to carry his cross Jesus was tired and weary from being whipped and beaten by the Roman soldiers because of the intense pain and the heavy weight of the wooden cross Jesus stumbled and fell the third station Jesus falls for the first time Jesus was tired and staggering up the hill to Cavalry when he was met by a Weeping Woman the woman was married his mother she looked painfully into Jesus's eyes and asked my son what have they done to you the fourth station Jesus meets his mother Jesus could barely manage the way of the heavy cross the soldiers did not want him to collapse along the way to Calvary so they pulled a man out of the crowd to help Jesus carry the cross the fifth station Simon helps Jesus carry his cross the sun scorched down from the sky like a ball of fire making the day intensely hot Jesus's face was Dripping with blood and sweat Veronica a woman in the crowd slowly stepped out and wiped his face The Sixth Station Veronica wipes the face of Jesus completely exhausted Jesus fell beneath the weight of the heavy cross a second time the soldiers showed Jesus no mercy they whipped him until he stood up up and continued on his weary Journey the seventh station Jesus Falls the second time the women of the Jerusalem sadly weighted Jesus they could hardly bear the awful sight of him as he passed by they began to weep out of love and sorrow for him Jesus told the women not to wait for him but to weep for their children the eighth station the women of the Jerusalem mourn for Jesus Jesus stumbled onward he again collapsed under the awesome way of his cross on his shoulders he was shown no mercy he was whipped and cursed until he managed to get up the ninth station Jesus dissolves the third time finally exhausted and weary Jesus reached Calvary the Roman soldiers made fun of him there and stripped him of his garments the 10th station Jesus is a his garments as the soldiers lay Jesus on on the cross he knew his life here on Earth would soon be over the soldiers then nailed Jesus to the cross even though the large nails were driven through his tender hands Jesus held back the excruciating pain and cried out to the father Jesus begged forgiveness for the soldiers for they did not know what they had truly done the 11th station Jesus is nailed to the cross looking towards the heavens Jesus's face filled with pain suddenly became calm father he said into thy hands I commit my spirit suddenly his head fell forward Jesus was dead the 12th station Jesus dies on the cross the sun was disappearing behind a heavy cloud the wind was increasing in strength there was a distant sound of thunder Mary Jesus mother Mary Magdalene and John but did weirdly at the foot of the cross for the soldiers to remove jesus' body so they could prepare him for burial the 13th station Jesus is taken from the cross Jesus's body was placed in the Tomb already prepared for him pilate ordered a large Boulder to be placed in front of the Tomb pilot was afraid that Jesus's friends would steal the body and hide it away saying that Jesus had risen from the dead pilot also ordered the soldiers to carefully guard the tomb making it impossible for anyone to enter or leave the tomb the 14th station Jesus is laid in the Tomb it was the morning following the Sabbath Roman guards were posted around the boulder outside the tomb where the body of Jesus had been laid to rest the hi guards were keeping watch of the tomb's entrance nothing unusual had happened during the night then with the dawn of Sunday breeding the soldiers were startled at the site of Mary Magdalene Martha and Mary they were walking towards the tomb the guards ordered them to stop and asked what they wanted Mary explained that they had come to anoint Jesus's body the guards were somewhat sympathetic and they ordered them to wait until the stone could be moved meanwhile Good Morning Light Group Rider only now did the women become aware of 2 young men working in a garden on the hillside near the path leading to the tomb 1 addressed the women cheerfully why do you seek the living among the dead Jesus this is risen he is not here the 15th station the resurrection
