Worship & Prayer

As a Catholic school, the Mass is our most important form of prayer and worship. We have Mass each week.  Generally, the Mass is on Wednesday. On Holy Days and special celebrations, the entire school celebrates the Mass. All students are welcome to come forward at Communion, but non-Catholic students and guests are encouraged to receive a blessing instead of the Eucharist. Even our younger students who have not received their First Communion can receive a blessing at this time.  Parents are always welcome to attend Mass (sign-in at the front office).

We also provide the sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent and Lent for all students in grades 3-12.

As a school, we begin each day with a prayer and end it with a prayer.  We also pray before lunch.

During Advent, we begin each week with a prayer service and lighting of the Advent candle.

Several teachers pray the Stations of the Cross with the students during Lent.  And the whole school is drawn to prayer during the traditional dramatization of the Passion Play by middle school students.

Students in theology classes from K-12 learn about prayer and its various forms and how to develop a relationship with God through prayer.
