DCC Faculty Highlight of the Week: Kassandra Loudon

DCC was delighted to introduce Mrs. Kassandra Loudon as a new second grade instructor beginning this school year.

Kassandra attended Slippery Rock University with a degree in Elementary Education.  She began her teaching career in 2013 at St. Leo’s in Ridgway where she taught 5th grade.  Although she loved the excitement and joy that teaching brought her, she decided to be a stay at home mom when her three children, Benjamin, Charlotte and Addison were young and needing her full time care.

When Kassandra’s two oldest children became students of DCC, she decided she would like to be a part of the DCC community by sharing her passion for teaching. Kassandra stated,  “I have loved watching my students learn, grow and strive to reach the goals they set before themselves at the beginning of the year.  Watching students bloom and encompass a love of learning grounded in faith truly is the greatest part of my job.”

The class has been busy loving and caring for their class pet hamster, Kit Kat.  Kit Kat recently took center stage as an understudy for ‘Punxsutawney Phil’ on Groundhog Day.

In closing, Kassandra said, “Being here at DCC is one of my greatest joys.  I am truly humbled to be part of such an incredible faculty and staff.”
