On Wednesday, August 28th, the Dubois Central Catholic family came together to celebrate the first all school mass of the new school year. Shalom, a local praise and worship band came to the school as part of a pastoral outreach program. The members of the band: Bart Foradora, Charlie Prescott, Dr. Stan Lang, Mrs. Sherry Lang, and Rich Kenawell, an alumnus of the school, joined grades 1-12, parents and guests in Mass through music.
Their uplifting songs and presence filled the gymnasium. It was almost impossible not to join in with the choir. Mr. Foradora and Dr. Lang were on the guitars singing with Mr. Kenawell and Mrs. Lang. Mr. Prescott was a wonderful sight to see and hear on percussion. It was a surprise to all the students for the band to be there, and a rather joyful one at that. Shalom members regularly bring energy and spirit to St. Bernard’s. The school was excited to have them and would love for them to return.
