DCC’s Annual Carnegie Science Day will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018!
Mrs. Donna Chollock, Chair of the Science Department, has confirmed that the CARNEGIE SCIENCE CENTER will be visiting DuBois Central Catholic Elementary School on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2018…for an all-day science event for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. The topic is a new one being offered by the center, entitled Who Wants to be an Engineer: Imagine it. Make it. Make it Better.
The science day begins with a ‘high-energy presentation’ at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium for all elementary students and teachers. There will be ten (10) learning stations already set-up in the school’s hallways for the elementary students to visit with their teacher according to a pre-determined schedule, which ends before 2 p.m. These activity stations will be manned by selected high school students trained by the center personnel to teach the hands-on activities presented at each station.
Chollock concluded, “This year’s topic fits in perfectly with Central’s belief on the importance of STEM activities.”
