DCC to Participate in the National 9/11 Good Deeds Challenge
DuBois Central Catholic will be participating for the first time in this year’s National 9/11 Good Deeds Challenge. According to faculty organizers Tara Kramer and Michael Micknis, the project will be promoted system-wide through the social studies classes on all levels from elementary to middle and high.
Pledge cards will be distributed through DCC’s theology classes where students will complete a pledge to perform a good deed in honor of the 9/11 victims. Two large banners created by Central’s art department will be hung down Events Hallway on which students will place their ‘good deeds’ pledges.
The video ‘Born on 9/11’ will be shown to Central students as recommended by the 9/11 Tomorrow Together campaign’s in its official teacher’s guide. Kramer and Micknis add, “9/11 Day is the nation’s largest annual Day of Service, recognized and established under federal law, and DCC is honored to be a participant in this nation-wide event.”
