Students at DuBois Central Catholic will be celebrating the Christmas season with school events that remind everyone that Jesus is the Reason for the Season!
The annual Family Advent Celebration will take place on Sunday, December 10, at 1 p.m. in the auditorium. Under the direction of secondary music teacher, Jodi Stewart, middle and high school students will be performing both choral and instrumental selections.
The Middle School Drama Club, also directed by Stewart, has been practicing after school for their presentation of I’m Not Ebenezer Scrooge … a play based on the classic story that teaches a modern-day penny-pincher that he must change his ways and be kind and helpful to others. The play, written by Tim Kochenderfer, is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. Note: Families attending are asked to bring a family-sized tray of treats to share for the social in the cafeteria following the middle school performance. Punch will be provided by the Family Advent Committee.
On Sunday, December 17, at 2 p.m. students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will present One Night in Bethlehem, an afternoon of music and song, under the direction of Joe Lesnick, elementary music teacher. A social will follow in the cafeteria.
On Wednesday, December 20, at 9 a.m. in the auditorium, pre-school students will be presenting Sing a Song of Christmas, also under the direction of Lesnick. Families will be delighted, too, with special plans for this event!
Without a doubt, Jesus is the Reason for the Season at DuBois Central Catholic, according to Headmaster Gretchen Caruso.
