DuBois Central Catholic’s Rifle Team will serve as hosts for the 2nd Annual Benefit Rifle Shoot, set for Sunday, March 19, 2017, in the school’s gym. All proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, which was established to provide experiences that strengthen our military and first responders, according to organizer Bernie Snyder, head coach of Central’s rifle team.
The shoot will feature a match between DCC and DAHS, as well as a public shoot/challenge match for the community at large. The two schools alternate hosting the benefit shoot each year. Snyder invites everyone to the day’s activities, which will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will also be a Chinese auction, food, and baked goods, with all monies raised going to the foundation.
Snyder adds, “Chris Kyle lost his life while pursuing his post-deployment passion, which was to help military members re-patriate after their service.” Since the mission statement of the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation (CKFF) is…To Honor God, Country, and Families Who Serve, the coaches at Central decided this foundation’s mission would be a fitting project not only for Central but also one the surrounding communities of DuBois would be happy to support.”
