Art students at DuBois Central Catholic Elementary School, under the direction of Cheyenne Helman, recently entered Google’s national contest. This year’s theme was ‘what I see for the future.’ School winners were the following: (front row) Gavin Hoover (Grade 1- Honorable Mention), Colton Sachs (Kindergarten – Honorable Mention), Brando Salandra (Grade 3 – First Place), and Brielle Gray (Grade 2 – Honorable Mention); (back row) Cheyenne Helman – Art Teacher, Olivia Helm (Grade 4 – Second Place), Cece Blasdell (Grade 5-Third Place), and Principal Gretchen Caruso. Over 170 entries were made by the students; school winners were chosen by vote of the faculty and staff. Entries by the top three school place winners ( Brando Salandra, Olivia Helm, and Cece Blasdell) were submitted to nationals.
