Fr. Adam Verona, DCC Class of 2000, was ordained a priest on June 25, 2011, by Bishop David Zubik, at St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. A native of Reynoldsville, Verona graduated from Gannon University in 2004 with a degree in history and certification as a paralegal. Ready to enter Duquesne University’s law school, he decided to try the seminary and entered the priestly formation program in 2005. He then earned a master’s degree from Duquesne in May, 2007, and was ordained to the diaconate on October 7, 2010, at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Father Verona’s chalice was willed to him by his former pastor and mentor, the late Msgr. John Mignot. Fr. Verona will complete his graduate studies at the North American College in Rome beginning on September 23, 2011.
