Cheerleading

Middle School Cheerleading

There are cheerleaders for each grade in the middle school and grade 5. They all cheer for the boys basketball teams. Additionally, there is a middle school competition squad that consists of 8th grade cheerleaders and sometimes 7th grade is permitted to tryout if more girls are needed; there are formal tryouts in this case.

High School Cheerleading

There is a JV and Varsity squad. Formal tryouts are held in April/May in front of a panel of qualified judges.

JV Cheerleaders cheer for boys and girls basketball games and they participate in a summer exhibition. They do not compete at the junior varsity level, but are taught everything they need to know to prepare them for competitive cheerleading.

Varsity Cheerleaders  cheer for boys and girls basketball games, and also compete. They attend cheerleading camp hosted by the National Cheerleaders Association in the summer and attend competitions from December to March.
