Graphing in Three Dimension Engages Students in Algebra II

Students in Algebra II at DCC, under the direction of Alena Park, recently tackled an assignment to follow written directions to create a 3-D graphing project using only pipe cleaners, paper, tape, and small beads.  The students approached the lesson with precision while remaining cautious about their success.  Park explains, “Students enjoy hands-on learning since it is more fun and creative than a traditional teaching lesson, and they also tend to learn the content easier and more effectively with visual aids.”
