Coke Versus Pepsi…Students Gather Data in Classroom Experiment

Students of Mrs. Alena Park at DuBois Central Catholic High School used their new-found knowledge of statistics to rate how successful their fellow classmates (seated l-r) Katie Jordan, Zach Edwards, Kenny Starr, Grant Norman and Alyssa Bittner were in identifying two different soft drinks. Assisting in the class experiment were (standing l-r) Haley Pettenati, Jacob Snyder, Sean Evans, Lizzy Gankosky and Justin Miknis. A classroom protocol was established for the collection, analysis and interpretation of the data collected. Park added, “To the surprise of some, the challenge of determining Coke from Pepsi was harder than expected…and the statistical data collected was proof!”
