School-Wide Art Contest Announced…”Doodle for Google”

STUDENT ARTISTS WANTED!

DCC’s Art Teachers, Cheyenne Helman (secondary) and Emily Roy (elementary) are spear-heading a school-wide art contest, focused around “Doodle for Google”…. which is a nationwide contest for school students to design their very own Google Doodle, like what is seen on the Google homepage every day. This year’s national contest theme is “What inspires me!”    Even though the national contest offers phenomenal prizes, DCC will have its own contest of school winners and prizes.    Helman and Roy will be submitting the top school winners to the national contest.  All artwork is to be submitted by next Friday, February 9, to either art teacher.  The following week, Ms. Helman and Ms. Roy will be displaying the artwork, allowing for a public vote.  Both agree, “This school-wide project is an exciting opportunity for DCC’s art department to display a wide range of artwork and get the whole school involved in appreciating not only the many artists at our school, but also the brilliant artwork that our students can create.”
