Spanish Students Celebrate ‘Day of the Dead’

STUDENTS CELEBRATE ‘DAY OF THE DEAD’

Spanish students at DuBois Central Catholic annually celebrate the ‘Day of the Dead.’ A sophomore (in photo) carefully places her decorated symbol on a high school locker.  According to Spanish teacher Tara Deemer, in keeping with the ancient Aztec customs of celebrating ancestors and All Saints Day on November 1st, students learn how Mexican families pay reverence to the sanctity of life and familial love while sharing joy and friendship through colorfully-decorated skulls now on display on numerous high school lockers at DCC!
